I was using a layered shader which seemed to work under mentalray until I realized it was not recieving shadows... so I tried to change into a mix8layer - the result is considerably darker in tone than my original. Does the mix8layer respect maya shaders just dropped into the "color" of the layers with the original transparency used as the o.factor ? or is there a different way to do the conversion?
