This is for lightwave but you can do all of this in c4d, even the vertex weighting (the bit at the end where he's colouring the model), it's just a very good thing to see how other people work.

for dealing with the ngons in this (should you try to emulate this tutorial) i suggest deleting the poly you're editing and using the edge tools, then using make poly tool to rebuild. i have make poly mapped to the p key cos it's just so useful.

it's well worth checking out the tutorial sections of other softwares sites as there's a lot of stuff that you can use to learn modelling (especially from lightwaves site), seeing as there's so little on the actual process of modelling available fro c4d users directly compared to other softs.

Most excellent I wish I could model that fast in real life. Imagine that from box to head in 5 minutes flat. I always find watching modeling videos like that that I am moving my mouse while watching like I am the one doing it, I think I have finally lost it .

Check Irfan Celik's video tutorial (for 3ds Max and meshtools), it's one of the best videotut I've ever seen. But yes, It makes wide use of n-gons

If theyr were to impliment them it would take quite a while, it is a totally different architecture after all. Whether it will come or not, I would like to see it become part of XL but am fine if it doesn't , only time will tell

totally useful seeing how other people do stuff....as it can sometimes be a problem finding different tuts for c4d there is no reason why you can't get theory from other software sites.

say-g: your crack me up.....i love it.....its because they can't do it really....

I always use the bridge tool for building polys it is way faster than make poly.

In modeling head, there may be two types of modeling, roughly speaking, that from box and that with making polygons step by step, or extruding edges. I think, for beginners, the latter may be suitable, using reference images. Polygon structure is also controlled somewhat better in this way. Anyhow, it takes much time to model a realistic head.:hmm:
To rebuild polygons, Stitch&Sew (http://homepage2.nifty.com/aquawave/e/cafeteria/stitch_sew.html) may help you.
