Hello,
My name is Joel Weirauch, and I am the lead developer of the Land of Ten Oceans project. Land of Ten Oceans, from here on referred to as LoTO, is a medieval fantasy MMORPG that has been in development for just over a year. Only recently have we been able to start to construct an art team, and we are currently looking for individuals to work on 3D character models.
What we are looking for is a creative individual who can come up with concepts for new races, as well as our existing suite, and create excellent looking 3D models that are fully rigged, animated, and textured. We are looking for a quote per model.
Here is what we will require for each model. We will need a concept sketch showing a rough idea of what you plan to do. We will give a description of what we are looking for, and then let you make it "cooler". Based on the concept sketch, we will give feedback and then allow you to begin work on the model. Each model should be in the range of 1500 to 3500 polygons. We are looking for highly detailed models that are still capable of being used in a real time setting. Each model will need to be animated with, at this time, the following animation sequences: stand (a couple of different variations), sit, walk, run, attack (a couple of different variations), block (a couple of different variations), sleep, jump, die (a couple of different variations). By a couple of different variations, we basically want 2 or 3 different animations for each. The models will need to be fully UV mapped and the textures should be provided in a 1024x1024 graphic file that we can scale down as needed.
The finished models will need to be in Microsoft DirectX mesh format (.X). The model and all of its animations will be compiled into a single .x file. We will need a text file that gives the animation frame ranges for each animation.
The textures will just be of the models wearing cloth clothing, no armor. Armor and other models will be added to the models later.
As stated above, we are looking for a price per model. We will need to see a portfolio of your previous works as well to see if your style suites our needs.
This is an internet position, so you will work from your home. If you are interested, please send an email to joel@landoftenoceans.com with the subject 3D Character Modeling and we will get back with you.
Thank you for your time,
Joel Weirauch
