View Full Version : Buying an external hard drive, info?
Unkle Bunkle 05-21-2005, 03:05 PM Hi I want to get an external hard disk to back up mp3s and stuff on my laptop. What's the best one out there at the minute? I'm looking for fast transfer, are they all USB or are there firewire ones too, and which is better.
Ideally want a small, light one, at least 100 GB, quiet, under £100.
Any ideas/ recommendations/ things to watch out for.
Thanks in advance!! :)

Well firstly you might as well spend bout £170 and get a 300gig.
Also USB 2.0 is faster than 'firewire'..i know i know not as fast as the 'new' firewire.
But majority are usb + power supply. check out this link for some nice prices..

as it says it may not be the fastest but gives you great gig for your money and i know alot
of people in the cg film land use these..very handy.
