View Full Version : eye blinking
hsuanfu 05-21-2005, 01:27 PM hello everyone,
Can anyone tell me what's the better timing for a normal human eye blinking?
I'm now doing it in 6's (close in 3 frames, and open in 3 frames)
Is it too mechanical? Someone suggests me to do it in 5's
(close in 2 frames and open in 3's) hemm......
Any idea? :D

How I understand what the 2-3 means. I guess that's more right. The eye is open more of the time, so closes a little quick stays open for a while etc. :)

Often - at 30 fps - I'll have it close it over a two frame period. And open over the duration 3-4 frames. The lids then have the appearance of settling back into an open position. If the lids close and open at identical frame times - then it tends to look a bit mechanical for my tastes. I don't usually hold the lid closed for longer than a frame. That's for a subconscious "normal blink" - emotionally charged blinks are different story of course. . .
