While building a shoreline in vue and using polygonal objects, I noticed a problem with the input node "distance to object below". To illustrate the problem I have reduced the problem to a very simple example:
First case: a plane and a sphere. The plane has a mixed material, red is for low distances to the object below (the sphere), blue for higher distances. All works fine as you can see:

Second case: as soon as I bake this parametric sphere to polygons (doesn't matter low or high quality), the following happens:

This "offset" is making the whole thing useless, and is always caused by any polygonal object.
Does anybody know what is going wrong? What can I do? (Yes I could stick to parametric objects, but I have to use imported objects)
Thanks in advance
