SCEA is seeking an Effect Artist to work on-site for their gaming division in San Diego, CA.
The title will be an RPG style game for the new PSP console.
Job Description:
You will be responsible for producing all of our in-game effects using Sony's custom effects editor. The effects will be scripted, edited and viewed via the effects editor, ready for direct placement into the game itself. You will be required to learn our custom editor quickly and become proficient in producing a high quantity of effects at a very high level of quality under a tight and demanding schedule. The effects will involve modeling, texturing, sprite creation, 2D texture animation and 3D geometry animation. The effects produced will be put through a rigorous approval system to ensure high quality, engine efficiency and that we keep on track with our meticulous pre-defined art style for the project.
Requirements:
• 2+ yrs in Maya
• 2+ yrs in game production
• Strong modeling, texturing, animation and effects skills
• Technical/artistic knowledge of games production
• “C” programming/scripting languages a plus
• Document creation
• Able to adapt to new tools quickly
