Title: Servant Of Creation (nudity)
Name: Eduardo Schaal
Country: Brazil
Software: Painter, Photoshop

It´s finished. My Master and Servant piece.
At 5'o clock in the morning (local time) I uploaded it.

A lot of tinny creatures and probably the smallest nude girl in the world :-).

Photoshop and Painter help me to finish my idea of an artist chained to his work, and being servant of his creations. Something similar occurred to me in the last 4 days, hehehe.

Thanks to all who comments in my thread and help me with good critics to finish this on time.

I love this piece, and the humorous way in which you've defined the artist's prison! Good luck!

Oh, yeah, the face in the pizza is priceless.

Kick arse I love it.

I'd say you are going to get a good response from all commercial artist.
'I just want to go out side and play'.

see i kind of like your style. it remembers me of a great friend of mine and... nevermind, i also think you could really work the shadows a little bit and put some movement in the drawing, its kind of stopped there. but its cool!!! i think you have potencial, you only need a little more atitude in the lights!! keep going young padawan!!!

Special thanks
Here we go with my special thanks and considerations:

After one week of long nights working after my regular time at Trattoria Filmes, an animation and comercial films facility in Sao Paulo, I finished the last steps of the painting.

This work is very autobiographical, I started my carreer as an Illustrator in 1989, pre-pc era, before Photoshop, in a time of airbrushes, pencils, brushes, acrilics and a lot of mess around my drawing board. Today, in the digital era, everything is a little faster, stills harder to do, but all can agree with me it's very cleaner than that time.

But one thing remains the same, the pressure of the dead lines and the need for improve the skills and, obvious, the pleasure to do the job.

I love what I do since I was drawing my star wars ships in my school books, but, as artists, in a metaphor way, we are prisioners, servants of our creations, the work controls part of our life, act as a master, especially in the late night with a smashing dead line over our heads.

I did my image with this on mind, but with a humorous point of view, the tinny fantasy/comics characters playing and doind all the mess around the desk, taking out the concentration of the artist, the girls representing the desire impossible to be realised at that moment and the little devil representing the bad conscious, the need to say " I don't wanna do this anymore!!" " I wanna go sleep" " let me go" , etc and the chains linking all the steps of creation and keep going out of the image, linking to the viewer/artist/myself.

About the image, I did one of my favourits works until now in this challenge. I'm really very happy with the result of the concept, composition and the painting.

It was hard to do, a lot of things to render in paint, and in focus with details, and my decision to do the white background leave me without a chance to hide things in the
shadows or insinuate objects with silhouettes or even create a mood with lights or contrast of warm/cold foreground/background per example.

But sure, this is not an excuse for a bad or good painting, It's just an art direction decision, nothing more.

That's it, this is my first challenge and is being a very enjoyable experience.

Now, my special thanks goes to:

To all who had commented in my thread, for the nice incentive replyes or well pointed critics.

To all my dear friends at Trattoria filmes, for incentive and bad jokes, hehehe and Diego "DVA" Velasco and his amazing one week 3d master & Servant image for the very last good suggestions.

To all friends at Quanta Academy of Art, specially for Weberson Santiago for being the model for "the artist" at the reference photos session. Valeu, Webs!

To my young padawan Agnes Ferrari, my other padawan (not so pretty) Julius Magalhaes, and of course, my incredible wife Alice.

Thanks and see you soon.

That's an awesome piece of art! Especially the message\idea, the facial expression and the clothes. You truly live up to the claim the CG-Talk site makes, the one about having the best artists of the world gathered in one place. :-) keep it up!

I like the recurrence (or it's recursivity) theme. And the cartoonistic finish of all the drawing seems to me very good. The expresion of the main character it's great too, and the idea you wish to transmit it's clear (alas it's a kind of common place like in the "cool world" movie, but whit a better drawing here)

Well, this sure is a fine allegory of a man being a slave to his job. I certainly hope that you draw in better conditions and they don't need chains to make yoy create something. I just keep wondering how would this look with additional backround. Other than that palette, perspective and details are fantastic!
