DreamWorks Animation Seeks Apprentice Technical Director
Location: Glendale, CA
Summary: This is an entry-level position who supports Technical Directors to ensure smooth operation and fulfillment of a production’s technical needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Monitors and assists in resource management. Areas include:
o Data archive and backup
o Disk space
o Production revision control
o Render farm process and usage
o Software testing
· Provides support and development of tools and procedures, which extend and enhance the production pipeline.
· Will support other Technical Directors with troubleshooting, development, and documentation, as the Department Technical Director Supervisor determines the need. · Adheres to pre-established studio standards.
· Attend weekly TD meetings as determined by the Department TD Supervisor.
Requirements and Experience:
· Undergraduate degree in Computer Science.
· Strong math and programming skills.
· Experience with the Unix environment. Linux experience a plus.
· Experience with Perl and shell scripting (csh/tcsh).
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Willingness to take direction and pay close attention to detail.
· Willingness to work in a team environment. Must have a positive attitude.
