Title: 3d Interior
Name: Matt Tyszkiewicz
Country: Australia
Software: 3ds max, VRay

I was with some of my mates yesterday and showing them my 3d work, and they're like "why havent you posted this on cgtalk?"

Well here's the first one. I made it in early January. Took about 3 hours from start to finish. Just a straight-out render.

Modelled in 3dsmax6 and rendered in vray.

C&C please.

Looks quite nice!!

But if i can give you a very handy hint for the rug. If you are using a displacement map, but a 2 or so pixel black border around the displacement map, that will amke the edges of the carpet stick down and make it sit better on the floor :)
But if you are using procedurals then just render a large top view of the carpet along with the procedural in the diffuse slot and no displacement and then edit that in photoshop to be the right size and to have a black border.

I know its a finished work, but the carpet really does need to be fixed up

Hey thanks heaps for the feedback. Yes, the carpet is a displacement map, and i will try using a black border. I will touch it up over the weekend if i have time and re-post it.

I found a photo very similar to the scene in a paint catalogue and though that it would be interesting to model it all in white. I have another one with some more colout that i will post later.

Cool work! But you have to make a shadows little darker, cos some objects are almost flying, but other than that it looks real! I have problems on V-ray with interior lighting, can you tell what kind of light do you use?

I love everything. I just think it needs more light, but it's ok.

Could you explain us how you did the carpet? It's fantastic!!!

Thanks
