View Full Version : ReTimer Alternative
briancole 05-18-2005, 09:49 PM Does anyone know of an alternative to Retimer (the software that retimes footage to slow-mo or speeds it up).
Any advice would be great!!
Thanks!

What do you mean by an alternative? Generally every compositing suite has time-remapping capabilities.

ReTimer actually adds in inbetween frames to slow down footage, so you don't get that unsettling effect that something is wrong with the video when remapping. Take a look here:

I first saw a demo for retimer about 3 or 4 years ago at a Maya 4.0 preview event and it was quite impressive.
Realviz also offers a retimer plugin for AE for about $300 US

Hello,
I know what it does. I just wanted to know, what You want to do with it.
The only retiming tools with optical flow I know are Retimer, Twixtor (like Aaaron said) and timewarping in Inferno (with motion estimation). I guess the new Shake 4 also has it.
I also heard about Time master (Phoenix tools), but I haven't read about it.
Cheers
