View Full Version : no grid
pipjor 05-18-2005, 12:02 PM every time i start max i turn off the grids in the 4 viewports. is there a way to save this "grid off" setting so the next time i open max i don't have to turn off grids again.

i'm not sure of that, BUT the "g" key is the shortcut for the grid toggle. You may have known that, but if you didn't, that would speed it up a bit.
Otherwise, and it's still beyond me for the moment, use the listen to script type command and save that. Then you can have the script run every time you open max or create a new file. There's an option somewhere to do that. i've seen it.

thanks, didn't know about the "g" key, but that only turns off the grid in the active window.
to take it abit further, i mainly do arch renderings and almost always have a Brazil Dir light/ Brazil set as my render, etc. I'd like these settings to ALWAYS be on when i start Max???
Alternatively you could create a maxstart file with your preferred settings. This file will be loaded everytime you start max. Look up "maxstart.max" in the reference for more information.
