lookin good, too clean for my taste tough. Also are the objects casting shadows at all, its hard to tell with the highly reflective surface, but its doesn't appear toe darker under the objects t all, I mean what shadow they wouldhave would be really soft, but I can't see much at all.
I agree with Kai,I also think the floor is to shiny bud :) ...but the rest looks nice, just play around with the materials a bit more.
Just noticed the feet of your little table dissapear into the floor.

I agree with the other comments, and I'll add that the shadow map resolution probably needs to be increased. The shadow on the wall from the blinds isn't smooth, and the speaker/stand doesn't appear to be castinga shadow.

That looks good.
So, your using GL or translucent shadows? I doesn't look like normal radiosity.

Thats better :)
For me personally I would remove the plant, and I would also scale up the coffee cup.Think of it like this if you had a cup of coffee and you put it down on the table how much bigger would it be then the keys which are on the table,or use something else to compare the scale of your cup to.
Nice dof.

your furniture is too neat and tidy to be lived in, all aranged straight on... you need to move things around, add some wear and tear to the furniture too, a few scratches wouldnt hurt. soften the edges on things a little too, everythings got very sharp edges at the moment, if you're using v7 then i suggest smooth shift slightly and scale down. there's always a slight build up of grit and grime towars the corners of floors, no matter how clean they're kept so maybe use dirtynuts a little on the floor. i suggest mostly re-arrange the room, look at your own room, and model what's there, there's a hell of a lot of junk and detritus of life when a rooms been lived in, from scratches on the furniture and walls, to the arrangement of stuff, to pits of paper and pencils, wiring, shelving.
the only problem i see with the plant is that it's a bit sparce, and a little bit small for that environment, maby add a few leaves and make it a bit larger.
it's a good room, but needs detail to make it shine. :)

seems to be working for me, i've not fully tested it (baking) but all seems fine so far.
As for the arrangement of everything Mike, imagine you have just moved into a new flat and you have everything in the room to position. Now just put it all in the way you would in real life :)

its amazing what a little tweaking can do...
I like the second result much more....obviously.
the plant doesn't need to be lost necessarily....just fed more....no soil....and looks a bit straggly (spelling?). I love the fact you used your previous posts of the racing car & the truck as wall hangings.
The tv stand legs seem to reflective...but then this might actually be what they look like....the far wall with the truck on is to bright in parts. The skirting boards are to plactic looking. On the whole though this is picky cos its very nice.
please post a final once you get round to it...nice work.

nice lightning!
your remote is too small and the shelf compared to the table and the tv also seem kinda small.
have you thought of a different camera-angle? maybe move down the horizont, so you will look more towards the furniture instead of looking on top of them?
Thats looking nice Mike
Your remote would be around half the length of your samll table on the left and about one quarter the width.Once you have the remote scaled then the cup wont be very hard to remedy at all.
I might try black plastic for the tv as I think it will enhance your specular returns because of the bevelling you have done on the edges...just my 2 cents :)
The bookcase needs a bit more scale on the y axis.
Cheers

What I don't get is where is the illumination in this image supposed to be coming from? The light from the window couldn't illuminate the scene in this manner, nor could the light from the TV. So where is the light coming from?
Physically impossible lighting generally does not make for realistic or believable renders.
