oreanimate 05-18-2005, 02:18 AM hello all,
this is prob a widely requested script, but could someone help me out with renaming image files produced from maya? It would seem that there should be a easier way then goin through 650 frames and retyping each one. I would greatly appreciate any help
thank you much

The best way to do it is to use a batch script to rename the images. You can use python or a shell script. For example, I put this into Google and it kicked back quite a bit of stuff.
Python:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&c2coff=1&q=python+script+rename+images&btnG=Search
Shell Script:

I used A.F. 5 Rename for Windows but RenameMaster is my preferred one now.
In Linux, rename command at shell (man rename at prompt to see the syntaxis) or http://www.unixgods.org/~tilo/replace_string/
