Digital Domain is seeking a Render Watcher. The Render Watcher is responsible for monitoring the successful rendering of all elements and images. The successful candidate will manage render farm resources monitoring 800+ cpus, help allocate disk space for elements and isolate render errors and proactively communicate problems back to respective owner.



Requirements:

-Knowledge of UNIX, or perl scripting preferred

-Candidates must have the ability to debug technical issues

-Detail oriented, with interest in detecting errors and resolving problems

-Must be able to prioritize requests and have effective communication skills

-Applicant must have an amiable disposition with a strong customer support ethic and an ability to handle production pressure well



Tasks:

-Work with TAs to prioritize order of rendering shots

-Allocate cpus to render jobs with proper priorities

-Debug failed frames, scripting errors and link issues

-Manage the disabled host list; tracking problematic machines with systems

-Maintain 100% utilization of render farms, rebooting machines when necessary

-Develop ideas for improving existing render tools and procedure
