I recently aquired a Powermac G5 (Dual) and i was wondering whether there were any tweaks / things i could do to take full advantage of the Dual Processors?

You can start with installing the extra render engine. Just do as you would when you installed the first copy of afx.
But click the options button in the installation dialog window and check the render engine button. Afx help file will explain how to render using the render engine.

Here is an article from creativemac about setting the whole thing up:

Another thing that might ease the workflow a bit more than the built in networkrendering feauters of afx, is the gridiron plugin from http://www.gridironxfactor.com/.

The free version gives you the option to use the extra proc. for rendering previews while still working with first proc.

If you buy the 6 license version you can use a mix of your mac and cheap desktop pc´s to build your own aftereffects renderfarm.
