BioWare is looking for an experienced visual artists with the skills and passion to conceptualize and create believable and compelling 3D character models in a variety of styles. As a character artist, you will be assisting in the creation of high-quality 3D art assets answering to the lead artist and Art Director using Photoshop and 3D Studio Max. The successful candidates will have strong facility in 3D and 2D art, exhibiting skills in realistic modeling and texturing, while demonstrating a flair for the fantastic and the unexpected within directed guidelines. You will have strong communication skills, and a willingness to take responsibility for yourself and your work.
Education and Experience
- BFA or equivalent;
- Minimum 3+ years experience as a character artist in the game, CG or film industry;
- Extensive experience with 3D Studio MAX required;
- High computer literacy and a passion for game art is a must.
Skills/Abilities/Knowledge and Personal Suitability
- Be responsible for modeling and texturing high quality characters within realistic style, in conjunction with the art director and project director;
- Outstanding drawing skills and conceptual art ability an asset
- Meet production schedule goals;
- Continuously learn new graphics tools and processes in line with required tasks;
- Must be creative and have the ability to adapt to realistic game style;
- Good team work and communication skills;
- Task driven and good time management skill;
- Deliver and receive constructive critique easily and work within the established art parameters.
- A passion for creating and playing video games;
- As required, assisting in other areas of project art development.
