Digital Domain is seeking a Technical Assistant. The Technical Assistant’s job is to act as a liaison between Technical Services and production. The TA will work closely with an assigned show on a daily basis in order to head off any technical problems that arise; Will help debug all NT/SGI/Linux workstations and renderfarms; Involved in all show specific walk-thru, meetings and departmental matters of communication. Also responsible for Render Forecasting their show once a week, and establishing render priorities with the Show leads and Supervisors; Will alert production to any bottlenecks, pipeline issues, disk-space, or other conflicts with all productions in house.



The TA must be able to diagnose problems on the render farm, major servers, software, render licenses, printers, viewstore, disk space, account creations and digital workflow. The TA serves as a 'key' support for a show.



Requirements:

-Must have 1 year experience with UNIX or LINUX

-Production experience required

-The ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests

-Must be interested in technical tools and enjoy problem solving

-Have a proven support oriented attitude and enjoy helping people

-Background in Systems Admin, NT, Linux, or Networks is desirable

-Knowledge of various industry software packages; Renderman, MentalRay, Maya, Houdini, Lightwave, etc.
