BioWare Corp. is looking for talented artists to join our visual effects team. Successful candidates will be able to research, conceptualize, and animate natural effects (water, smoke, foliage, dust, fabric); as well as fantastical effects (spells, explosions, powers, etc.). You must have an interest in fantasy and be driven to create effects never before seen in video games. You will have a good eye for effective visual representations. Successful candidates must be proficient in animation and have an understanding of physical principals. We are also looking for strong problem solving skills.

Education and Experience

· 2 years + experience in the game industry is preferred. Or demonstrate visual effects ability.

· In-depth technical knowledge of 3dsmax would be an asset.

· Experience in Photoshop or After Effects

· Experience with a scripting language (Mel, Maxscript or Phyton, etc.) would be an asset.


Skills/Abilities/Knowledge and Personal Suitability

· You should be independent and able to self supervise.

· Able to animate.

· Have an eye for what looks natural/believable.

· Demonstrate a flare for what looks sensational and fantastical.

· Able to communicate and work well with designers to anticipate their needs.

· Honest, direct, flexible yet firm.

· Be able to share and teach knowledge to other artists at BioWare.

· Possess good problem solving skills.

· Solid Technical abilities to aid in creating new visual effects art pipelines.

· Able to keep content relevant to the current projects art style and work within those limitations.

· Meticulous and organized in the approach to tasks, files and storage of the material.

· Performs other duties as required.
