Since you work for NT, why don't you or someone at NT post the old .obj exporter from Lightwave 7, since the current one is buggy and does not function. Or maybe you should tell the programmers to actually fix bugs instead or leaving them there forever like alias/wavefront does.

Actually, the 7.5 .obj export almost works right. The only problem I can see is it sometimes exports doubled groups, one from the parts and one from the point sets, you end up with something like:
g parta partb
instead of just
g parta
The .OBJ exporter in 7.0 didn't export Object groups at all, though it did import Wavefront .obj groups as points sets (I can't imagine why anybody thought that would be useful, but oh well)
Maybe in LW8. :)

The problem I had was when importing OBJ to Maya (which I unfortunatly have to use at work), the object got no name. And as it had no name, it couldnt be renamed.
I guess I'll just use Deep Exploration. It wasn't working either, but I updated it and it now seems to do ok.
Well, to get LW 7.5's .obj exporter to work with Maya, you have to change all Surfaces to Parts (Surface to Parts). It seems to work well enough.
