I have been away for a while.

Here is a recent character study I did for an illustration I started for the Enchanted Creature Challange a couple of months ago. I am trying to expand my protfolio. Tell me if you like it.

I really like this, and you have spent a lot of time thinking it out. Thats what you are supposed to do when making a model sheet.

The only crit I have is for the antlers, they are too thick (imo).
They just weigh the head down too much. She has a large kangaroo portion but a petite upper torso, and small head. Then you put these really thick antlers on her. The length of antlers is okay, just the diameter at the head.
This is, of course, my opinion and doesn't mean you should change it.
I think it is nice enough to put in a portfolio, as is.

That's different... :) i agree wif dmcgrath about the antlers... thinner ones will look much nicer on her (since her upper body is so petite). Just a thought, it would be nice if her lower body looked *really* kangarooish. like the feet and tail. but over all, i think it was pretty well thought up :)

nice piece. i dunno if this really matters to you, but usually only males have antlers like that.

Thanks for the crit.

Yeah the waist is very small and the antlers are quite big, but I kinda like to exaggrate like that. I do question if she could hold her head up if she lived in our world, but that is the cool thing, she doesn't. :D

I was thinking their society holds the size of antlers as a sign of beauty. They also hang precious stones and hand crafted jewlery on the antlers, similar to how we have wrist bands and necklaces. On average males have larger antlers. As a female this character has average sized antlers. You should see what I have in mind for the males larger antlers, Theirs are much much bigger.
