Title: Mika Estova
Name: Janey Yang
Country: Canada
Software: HDR Shop, Maya, Photoshop, SOFTIMAGE|XSI

Hello,

I have just recently completed a one-year 3d program, and I would like to receive some feedback on my work. Mika is modeled to the likeness of Anna Kournikova as I wanted to give her a strong and athletic presence with a sassy attitude. I used Maya and Photoshop to model and texture, Softimage to animate. Both direct and indirect illuminations are employed in this render. If you would like to see her rig and animation, please check my website (www.nooxion.com) for the rig and animation videos. Please feel free to point out the areas of improvement. Thanks.

nice man, but the beauty of this model is not really shown in this particular render. I checked your site and i like that blue render much more. On this render she looks so solid (hair). The skin shader needs some work and the lighting too. But the model is awesome.

Amazing job Janey, really well done.

Only crit is the pony tail, it doesn't has the detail is should have. Perhaps try and make some loose hairs there. Perhaps with some alpha maps.

And perhaps make a better background, it is too lowres now.

nice work man, you have the facial modelling down fairly well. However, I would reccomend either using a real hair generator next time or not having the hair in so much focus. Basically the hair is not nearly as good as the modeling. Same goes for the texturing, you need a multi level skin shader with SSS for the skin to look really good. On top of that WITH a good skin shader and slightly warmer lighting this picture would be simply amazing. Don't take this wrong man, it's a good picture but it looks a little bit like a poser model. The modeling is 8 or 9 outta 10 but the texturing is a 5 and the hair just shouldn't be done unless you have a genuine hair generator in my opinion anyways.

But really it's a good peice of work, keep working on it I am sure your next picture will NOT have this problems :-P. nice job

Janey ,
The face is modelled well.
And in addition to what they say above, you need a hole in the ear, more polys in back side, and shadows.....

i'm not really a big fan of it, but that's just me. I think the areas that could use improvement are the shaders on everything because it feels so solid and not alive right now. Also there are some weird bumps and stuff on the jawline from your modeling.

Nice face modelling. The "back" of the hair seems very hard. Besides, very nice. :)
