View Full Version : Black pixels when rendering

We are network rendering a scene in Max 5 and keep getting black pixels in certain areas. I checked the Scale Luna box on the render options but that still did not help. It does not show up on all the computers that are rendering, just some of them. As far as I can tell the settings are the same on all the computers. Does anyone know what else might be causing this and how to fix the problem?

Thanks,

Brad

Can you post an image with the offending pixels?

Right now I have no good ideas.

yes yes yes, same here, i was just going to post this as my problem, i'll post my pic too!
the quality is crappy, but you can see the black spots/pixels....
i'm thinking this happens because i'm mixing my photometric and standard lights...

thats probably due to double-faces.. make sure that gemoetry isn't something like a spline thats extruded to 0 height, or something that was cloned but left there.. raytracers have trouble differenciating what it has to render and will just spit out junk (ie, black spots)
