I am entering a bit late, but I just joined this web site. My image is not the usual idea of a master/servant relationship. Both the master and servant are aspects of the self as we try to deal with limitations that seem to come from outside, but realy are from within. It is meant to be a metaphor, not an image of a violent act, however I can see that it could be considered violent. Please let me know if this is a problem. Thanks,
-Robin Witzsche

Here is an explanation of the image!

In my image both the master and the servant are aspects of the self. The knife represents limitations that we put on ourselves, and the right hand is the drive to create. As we try to master ourselves and our lives we can kill our own creative potential. When we try to make creativity a servant we limit our abilities. Yet if we let it free it can become the master of us. The image depicts the struggle of the artist, the feeling of being trapped in and being a servant to, a world that does not respect creativity. The metaphor of pulling the sword from the stone makes one think of a near impossible task, or one that requires magic to accomplish. Yet is she really trying to pull the knife free, or merely driving it deeper? It is after all, her that put it there.
