View Full Version : n-gons and hypernurbs
Hi,
I am box modelling a head, which requires using n-gons at specific points however when i put my mesh (with n-gons) into a hypernurb it adds edges to the n-sided polys converting to normal 4 sided polys and tris?
when de-activate the HN the mesh return to the correct topolgy?
Any ideas?
Thanks

Dont use tris or ngons when modeling a head with SDS / HN, they're not required at all. Take a look at the otto mesh in the object library.

in the r9.1 update, there is a new hypernurbs-algorithm. there is now the standard catmull-clark algorithm, and a catmull-clark algorithm optimized for n-gons.
just switch it in the attribute manager with the selected hyperNURBS-object. this should solve your problem.
