Hi,

Im wanting to make the title of my animation fade in using an animated greyscale of some fog ive made in max. Ive animated the density of the fog greyscale movie so the frame goes from completely black to gradually full with dense white fog. Id like to use the fog animation for the texts transparency so that the text gradually appears on screen in a foggy like effect.

I have the base animation in my composition, followed by the text psd file on top... what do i do with the fog animation? Is there an alpha channel or something i can put it in?

Place your animation layer on top of the text layer. Turn your animation layer into a Luma-matte and adjust/animate the contrast and lightness.
