Animator, Modeler, Texturer, Audio Engineer, Writer, and Storyboard Artist needed
Two years ago at Sigraph, Alias|Wavefront presented an animation that was remotely assembled by artists around the globe. The foundation for this animation was Maya’s use of pre-determined project directories and reference objects. A team of five individuals came together –remotely speaking-- and built an animation worthy of recognition by industry powerhouses. How would you like to do the same?
Tell me more you say, O.K. sure. Although in its infancy, the goal of this project is to utilize top talent across the industry to create top-notch animations. Once the team has been assembled, AOL’s Instant Messenger (open for debate) will facilitate communication, and an FTP (again, open for debate) location will be established for uploading work. After all the dependencies have been uploaded, production will begin.
This project does NOT involve money --Sorry. It’s strictly for those that are driven by the need to create. Additionally, it’s about the team. Building great animations requires a team, and more importantly, teamwork. In the end, ownership will belong to the team, not to anyone individual, although you’ll of course be free to use and promote at will.
If you are an Animator, Modeler, Texturer, Audio Engineer, Writer, or Storyboard Artist and feel limited because of time, corporate @#!$, knowledge, or other, but have a proven skill set in at least one of these areas, then we want you to be part of this project. Oh yeah, one last thing, production will be in Maya, so you’ll need to know it.
If interested, Please send samples of your work and area you’d like to contribute to: thirdaxis@yahoo.com
Best Regards
