View Full Version : How do you guys get such BIG snapshots of your renders??
pabwolf 05-12-2005, 11:19 PM I'm new, so i don't know how. All i know how to do is render a frame and save it as an image, but my images are always lo-res and pixelated! How do i get those sexy large sized snapshots?

No offence, but it seems like youve just picked up a copy and hit the render button.
Maya 'help' beleive it or not, is actually very useful. You need to go into your render preferances and change the antialaising and render size outputs.
But before all that, you should really set a new project - so Maya knows where to dump everything your doing ;)

hmmm... you are using maya for 8 months? there must be something wrong...
first: are you sure you increased the resolution?
then check scene antialias, then which renderer you are using, just play around with the render globals (set everything to highest  (just kidding))
maybe you just mean depth of field?

Believe it or not, but I wasnt being sarcastic.
But if u've been using Maya for 8 months, and you havnt learned how to use the render preferances, what have you been doing?
**Edit**
Go to www.3dbuzz.com for some free 3d maya video tutorials that can help you.

u should look for a tutorial out there.
www.learning-maya.com (http://www.learning-maya.com)
in rendering sectione u can find a lot of stuff ...
Anyway
Window ---> Rendering Editors ---> RenderGlobals(ILOVEIT)
here u find two kind of settings:
Common Sets ( where u find the resolution option )
And the sets of ur renderer ( here find a tutorial )
