Master and Servant 2D Entry: Maciej Wojtala

I wanted to show the unequal relationship between the stronger and the weeker. It sometimes start in childhood. I give toys a soul - so they can be first abused slaves of an evil kid.


I know its late for a start - but I hope I can catch up. Ive seen so many great entries! (luckly I havent seen my vision anywhere :) I would be most great for critics..

Here goes my first pencil sketches - and I almost finished some first color sketch...

I want to depict a very young wizard summoning his first servants.

My concept has a little changed :)
I belive it has evolved :)

I would really appreciate comments on the idea and composition. Do You like the toy-servants?

(in fact the green bear is a toy made by my dear girlfriend - he is a great and patient poser :)

Oh, I do think I like your evolved concept. The glasses reflecting the magical mood and the toy servants - definitely. I always wanted living dolls when I was little. This looks like it's going to be fun and dellightful.. much good luck with the challenge..:)

Nevertheless, I like it very much, especially the colors and general atmosphere.

After some dirt there is time for some smooth work... still getting close to the line art - when composition is settled.

Another line art update. I changed few things.I tried to make the doll look woken up, and the bear a little confused.

Most of the things are at place - now its time for playing with colors and details...

Critics are most welcome :)

I was wondering wy I missed you thread...then I saw you just entered six days ago!
Looking good and nice concept! Maybe you should use also some orange red tones
for the skin of the boy. Looks a bit monotone at the moment.

I had an strange idea, I wont continue - making boy a magician in some wierd and wicked theme park mixed with circus. Just a loose idea. Now back to something that will fit more to my main idea :)

I think you should give him his glasses back, it made him look rather charming...
Aside from that, good atmosphere.
