View Full Version : Is there an 'ink in water' effect available for AW

Hi all,
I've just had an idea for finishing treatment on an animation I'm doing at the moment.
It's clean roto shapes of characters interacting in water.
Just needs that edge now, hence the ink in water effect.
I want to be able to dissolve the solid shapes as if they were ink on glass and suddenly dipped into water. I've seen some great experimental stuff shot, using paper/glass and a tank of water. Done by Limerick I think. Looks fantastic.
Just wondering if this can be done digitally (as close a possible).

You can do this with Maya fluids. You can use images as input for color,density, etc.

Yip,
Maya fluids looks pretty good. RealFlow too.
Problem is, I don't have said packages :shrug: .
I use C4D for my 3D work.
Was hoping there would be an AE work around.
