Hi there,

I created customized "duber studio" UI themes for both max 6 & 7 including customized SPLASH screens and kyboard shortcuts.

Here's how it looks:
http://www.duber.cz/duber_studio/duber_theme.gif

3ds max 6 splash:
http://www.duber.cz/duber_studio/max_6_splash.gif

3ds max 7 splash:
http://www.duber.cz/duber_studio/max_7_splash.gif

3ds Max 8 splash:
http://www.duber.cz/duber_studio/Max_8_splash.gif

And here's the keyboard shortcuts map:
http://www.duber.cz/duber_studio/shortcuts.gif

The rest is up to you

3DS MAX 6 DOWNLOAD - right click > save as | WinRAR file (http://www.duber.cz/duber_studio/3dsmax6.rar)

3DS MAX 7 DOWNLOAD - right click > save as | WinRAR file (http://www.duber.cz/duber_studio/3dsmax7.rar)

3DS MAX 8 DOWNLOAD - right click > save as | WinRAR file (http://www.duber.cz/duber_studio/Max8_UI.rar)

EDIT: I've added the Max 8 UI theme as well, but note that this one is actually the very UI I use in my daily work and therefore you'll most likely end up with empty keyb. shortcuts or so, unless you have installed all the scripts/plug-ins as I do (very unlikely). So, you can always use only certain parts of the UI, such as the colors, or keyboard shortcuts or so...

NOTE: bear in mind that those themes will replace your defaults! So rather make a backup copy! Also I don't take any responsibility for any damage or harm or lost work by using those UI themes. That also doesn't mean any will happen, it's just a legal term thingy I have to note here!

Hope you like it and find it useful...

Some people don't use the custization possibilities offered by max, some even don't know of them... So... I give you a starting point.

This is not useful anyhow, it's just if you want this theme, pick it up, if you don't... just don't...

It definitely won't help you creating better images or anything :D

I posted this on a different forum and the people there liked the theme a lot, so I thought why not posting it here?

Yes, there is, just load only the duber_studio_blue.kbd file from UI folder, this will load up only the keyboard presets

To captainchet:  To one guy it was actually quite useful, at least he said so, because he didn't know about the UI colors etc... and after loading up this theme he said he didn't have headaches anymor :D But that's an extreme case... I personally use personalised UI a lot! Because it speeds up my workflow! That's another usful thing... other than that... it's just aesthetics

Well that and viral marketing, as one might hope. Hey whatever gets you page hits* and ultimately work. * Hopefully a few are actually potential clients and not just other 3D artist with a boner to make a living in 3D too.

You have some nice contract work on your website there bro, how is the market in the Czech Republic right now? I have heard of a few shops doing some pretty serious stuff. Were do you stand and how do you price out your art?

What's with the Halloween themes? Its summer over here..

I've always run a dark interface and customize Max until I feel like I've got the best shortcuts possible. Strokes Utility Rules!

Hi there Ls3D. Well, you got me wrong, I didn't do this for getting hits or spreading viruses!

I also didn't do all this for spreading viruses or getting hits:
http://www.duber.cz/index.php?id=stuff

I like to share my knowledge, or in this case, my UI settings...

Anyway, I hope this post wasn't intended to offend me in any way, so... The market in the Czech Rep. is nothing in comparison to the US one, but still, we do some good stuff! Mainly commercials and occassionally music videos. I personally do commercial work, music videos, intros, animation, custom model development and special effects. As for my rates, I don't want to discuss this on forums for understandable reasons, so if you are interested in my services or just want to get more info about me/my work, please contact me at loocas@duber.cz

To stuh505:  nice!

btw: I personally use this one:

Thanks for sharing man!!

I won't use it because I think that it's too contrasted. I think that it's not good for vision

Really cool though :)

You're right man, I don't use it myself! :D But you haven't seen a UI that uses a friend of mine... MAN, that guy must have some kind of filter built in his eyes! I can't be looking at his UI for longer than a few seconds in one go! :scream:

Viral marketing is a good thing, no suggestion of any activity related to computer virus's was expressed or implied. In case your still not clear, anything that people share on the internet that draws them back to your site is a form of viral marketing. Some of these have been quite successful, some controversial, and some just darn funny. Case in point, I saw your website for the first time today.

So now you know the second part - I'm generally not offensive, despite the Avatar.

Regarding the climate there in Prague and rates - Well as the global economy fills in outsourcing seems inevitable, and as I have seen more & more quality work comming out of the Czech Republic, I was just wondering what your experience was there. As for the rates, I guess that was a bit personal in the forum here, but I will share this with you - at my best I can do $500 US a day, other times I have been happy to have half of that in a week and a stale sandwich.

As marketing efforts start to pay off (and they are), I will one day need to increase my network of competent artist, so I was just wondering how my US dollar would spend there.

- Ahh, got it :D Yes, this helps sometimes, but I mostly got jobs by actually writing to companies and going to interviews etc... Btw: I haven't worked for any Czech company yet, mainly for Australians, where I actually had lived for 2 years... :)

You don't have to be worried in this field, because the US $ is still stronger than our currency, that also covers other things, for example I can buy one bread for $3 in Australia, as opposed to 3 breads in the CZE for the same price ;) We're still waiting for Euro to take over here in CZE, so till then...

Halloween??? It's inspired by ZBrush 2. Right now it's consistent with my XP theme.

loocas: how did you make all the icons go into mono-color on the theme that you personally use? I was trying to figure out how to do that.

BTW, Video tutorials for finalRender -- awesome! Can't wait to try these out. I'm going to DL them all and burn them to CD's.

- Use full color icons, then tweak them in the COLOR panel under Customize UI

- I don't want to dissappoint you man, but those are in Czech only at the moment  But don't worry, I'll be translating them as soon as I find some spare time on my hands!

Thanks for sharing your UI, but this one is too contrasted for me.

The one you use in Nokia 6670 training videos is perfect for me,
so is it possible that you share it with us ?

And again, thanks a lot for all these wonderful training tutos ;)

You're welcome mate ;) However the one I used when creating the videotutorials is no
different to the DISCREET DARK UI :) I only customized the buttons and tabs, but that'd be
useless to you unless you'd have all the scripts and plugins I use ;)

Thanks and cheers...

Hey loocas,

The colors of your UI match with your avatar. You have a style!

:D sure... But this one is actually the one I use, so, there will certainly be problems with missing plugins etc... I mean, you can use it by all means, but certain keyb. shortcuts or links won't work unless you have the same scripts/plug-ins installed...

This is a very fast draft of the UI I set up in Max 9:

Download here (http://www.duber.cz/duber_studio/Max9_ui.rar)

I'll post a more complete version, but I won't disturb the Splash as that's Pascal's work and I love it, so... yeah... ;)

I hope you'll like... this is the actual UI I've developed over the years that I use day-in, day-out.
