i was wondering what was the best way to achieve this kind of effect in c4d.

i heard about noise but i would like to know some more detailed settings if possible.

You might want to play with 3d noises applied to a volumetric light.

you really do have to try different noises out to find the ones tht work best for the look you've got in your head. also play with the low & high clipping values, you need to have a high contrast within a specific range in order for the volumetric lights to work.

additionally make sure you're using volumetric noise (i.e. world space, object space etc) for these forms, as otherwise you're going to end up with (on the default light texture tag at least) noises that are like beams rather than fully volumetric.

for the backgrounds you don't really need volumetric lights (these take quite a while to render), just use planes with noises built up either using layers, or by multiple planes and noises in the alpha channels.
