I create 180 frames from xsi and import them into After effects, the compostion is set at 25fps this means that the drames should last 7.2 seconds but it doesnt, it lasts just under 6 seconds!
why is this? i need them to think they are running at 25fps!

i had this very same problem this morning, and it was really pissing me off! I had my composition set to 25fps PAL settings, then when i went to import a sequence of bitmap frames it imports them as 30fps, so the animation is much shorter than it should be. Im a complete AE n00b so i couldnt figure out how to fix this but i got around it by opening the frame sequence in Premiere (assuming you have a copy) in a project set to PAL 25fps. Premiere recognises it as the correct length. I then rendered this as an uncompressed AVI so there is no loss of quality. When you load the uncompressed AVI into AE now all should be OK...

The problem is easy to solve, right-click on the imported clip in the bin in AE, choose "interpret footage" from the menu and set it to whatever framerate your clip was supposed to be!

Hope That helped!

when u import frames into AE, by default it assumes u want it at 30fps, u can change this in your prefs>import

if u have it imported already and want to change it, select the footage in your project window, right click go> interpret footage>main(or crtl+f), there u can adjust the fps and field settings

good luck:)

EDIT: o ok, danne_n replied at more or less the same time
