HI:
I have a Matrox Digi Suite LE running on a Intel PERL mobo using a 64 GB SCSI RAID system.
I just found that Intel PERL mobo has builtin Serial ATA controlllers for two drives.
I also found that there are two kinds of serial ATA drives:
a) the very expensive, lower capacity, hi speed and 10000 rpm
b) the normally priced, higer capaciy, lower speed, but higer than PATA (150kB to 133 kB) and 7500 rpm
There is a 2 to 1 ratio in access time ( 10ms to 5 ms ) as is a 2 to 1 price ratio.
The big question is:
Can I replace the existing 64Gb SCSI array with a pair of stripped lower priced Serial ATA ? (and get every thing working fine)
All, reliable, tested and guessing answer are very wellcommed.
