Hi! I just put together a little bit of the stuff I've done over the last 2 years... I'm still very unsure about some of the clips, but here it is.

My first reel since school...

I'd like to say that I feel a tad weird putting this up where 3D animation rules... but ever since I found this site, it's been nothing but benificial to me.

I am currently working on a 3D segment to put in but, since work is so demanding and so many other things that just keep popping up, the time to do it is slim. I do wish to find a spot in a game studio, or film (fingers crossed on that one :D ) which is why I want to go towards the 3D side of things...

Ok, rant over.

If anyone has suggestions, please throw them my way! Please!

Well, I haven't seen many 2D reels yet...but this one looks pretty good, the movements are fluid in most of the animations and the facial expressions aren't bad. There is nothing that stood out to me, maybe someone with more 2D experience will give you some critiques, but I think this isn't bad.

All the work was done in Flash 4. Yep. Flash 4. It's just better :D

I'd still like to know if the whole of it is ok... I was wondering if the way I put it together worked... I was thinking about putting all the lipsincs together, so that I can have the sound be the same throughout, in the sense that I would lower the level of the music as soon as talking was involved... so to have a more unified feel to it... Would that be a good thing, or is the sparse lipsinc sequences better...

I think how the stuff is layed out works well...probably would be nice to get another person's opinion, but I dont think I would change it :)

Wow! Great stuff! Did you animate it all on twos and just vectorize in flash? Regardless, its a really nice reel. Only think I would cut would be the boy makes a drink scene.. nothing wrong with it but it doesn't really add. What country/area are you looking in?

Yeah... I see what you're saying... I think I might take him out.
As for the actual animation, it was all drawn in Flash, with a tablet... some on ones, some on twos... it's really quite effective as an animation program, no waste, (paper, pencils..etc...)
and saves time, where you draw something and can get an instant pencil test without having to scan anything.. loads of benefits!

As for the location, I'm in Halifax, Canada, but I'm looking to go pretty much anywhere... if some company in the States want to pay my way, I'm there! :D But I am looking more in Canada...
