Odysseus is Ulysses to, no ?
Yep - Odysseus (called Ulysses in Latin) was the son of Laertes and was the ruler of the island kingdom of Ithaca. He was one of the most prominent Greek leaders in the Trojan War, and was the hero of Homer's Odyssey. He was known for his cleverness and cunning, and for his eloquence as a speaker.

I'm excited about it too. I've already sketched out a couple of ideas for mine. Monsters, sirens, boats, sheep, men with beards - this topic has it all.

Arkinet - Things are pretty casual here. The general idea is just to try to get your sketch (or sketches) posted by the end of the week before voting starts for that weeks topics.
So, welcome and start sketching.:)

He had this bow that had to be on reverse.
I dont know if you get me, but if the bow originally looked like a C, it would be a D right before he shot with it. Atleast this is what historicans have found out to be the most powerfull bow at that time and it would be the one he shoots with at the end of the book I've read. He was dressed as an old man... Oh I wish I could use this concept in an artwork, but I'm saying this in case others would like to use it, I'm not good with a penn.
I just love that saga, my father used to read it to me when I was a child.
Oh and in the Trojan Horse, unless like 50 people like you saw in the movie "Troja" with Brad Pitt, there were 7 only people.
augustus - That's great, I love that giant! He was the first weird guy he met if I rememmber corectly. "My name is noboddy!" (Or something different in the English verion of the book)
Oh I need to read that book again.

Well, I went old school on this one and used paper and pencil. Spent a few hours on this one. Whew. Edit:I should mention that I used a couple photos from the movie Troy as reference for some of the armor.

Once more, a great sketch from crazyman.
A B pencil, Crazy? I've found your secret! *runs off to find a pencil*:D
I love pencils. Something comforting about clutching them in one's paw.

Alright, I finally decided what I'm going to paint for this. I don't have time yet to do the sketch, but tomorrow morning I take SAT's, so afterwards I am seriously going to want to relax, and I'll paint then. I might get carried away with the idea though and get really detailed...haha!
Nice sketches everyone, they all look wonderful!
