After recording all the rotations of the bones of my model, it looks fine, but after I close and load the file, the mesh turns out like this. Help!

Another question: How do I get Modeler to synchronize with layout after I make changes? The Synchronize with layout button on the top right corner doesn't seem to be working.

Whenever things turn out like this, just select the bones and run Record Bone Rest Position. This will reassign the selected bones to the points in the mesh. IK should typically be turned OFF when you do this, so you won't rest the bones when they are in the wrong position. Deformations can be ON or OFF, it doesn't matter. With Deformations turned OFF, you'll see what mesh your acctually resting or "attaching" the bones to. However for the learning experience I'd try resting one bone at a time with Deformations turned ON so you'll acctually be able to see what the Record Bone Rest Position command does. Start at the root. This might be a good eye-opener.

thanks all. works normally after I record bone rest for the second time. Mesh snaps back to default positions.
