slick....rick....erh sorry goodie peoples.
I think the mag cover needs to be more used looking, at the moment looks more like a tile than glossy paper. Also the side of the big glass needs to be smoother. If you look at it from range you can see the poly edge....but if you go close up it looks fine. apart from that fine. hope this helps
Whats the new topic then if youre giving up on still life?

The only thing I can see is that everything is so clean, you should make it dirtier, other than that fine.
Intresting reading:rolleyes: , you know swedish?

Great except for the magazine cover. It looks like it's varnished into the table.

Me too I have the impression that the glossy magazine has no thickness because the reflection on the table goes straight ahead on the mag cover. If it were having a certain thickness, the reflection would go on from a slightly different place (that would be localised by the perspective).
Apart from that I am very impressed by the overall quality, and also by the composition: you give the idea of a photograph taken by accident which adds to the realism.

Permit me to add this very simple image to show what I mean:

looks like a great magazine:eek: but it is maybe a little too shiny...
the rest looks sweet:beer:
Nice
It might just be my gamma but it looks like it needs a bit of overall contrast.Try an adjustment layer in PS to see if you like it with more contrast,if not chuck the layer as its non destructive :)
For the Magazine I would use a plane and I would work out the binding width then using the knife tool make a cut just outside your outer poly so that you can extrude the binding seperately from the rest of the cover, also some bevelling of edges might help as well :)

very good result compared to this masterpiece, I've got some doubts about the magazine and the glass, the rest seems ok

The magazine has an odd reflection on it. Also, why is the pic so grainy?
