View Full Version : How do I invert an alpha map?

I'm trying to import video and images with alpha maps into Avid XPress DV, but the files always import with an inverted alpha map.

How can I invert an alpha map for an image in Photoshop? I can't find any way to edit the alpha directly.

you should be able to go to your channels window, select the alpha channel and invert it (ctrl + i)

(it should also be possible to create an action to do this for a batch of images if you need to)

This is good to know, thanks.

I did a search on Avid's support website today and found out how to invert the map on import. It's all good now. :thumbsup:
