Hi Gang,

This will be my first Animation Session. I did some thumbs tonight so I figure I am somewhat committed now. I just hope I can see it through to the end (I've started so many little projects, I jump from wip to wip). Everybody's is looking good so far so I'm gonna try to keep up with you guys.

I'm putting the thumbs together in p'shop and will post them soon.

I do think it looks like a lot for 10 secs.

Thanks Greg,

I think it will add up to more than 10 seconds as well. But, I think it will be a fun and challenging piece to animate just the same. If nothing else, hopefully I'll end up with a portfolio piece.

Maybe if you had some unique way of getting him in the cannon. Like sternio had his clown jump in from a springboard.

I like how you put together your thumbnails btw :thumbsup:

It looks like my boards are WAY too involved. I'm going to start the anim about halfway through - from where the canon fires and he crawls out, equilibrium all out of whack.
I'll add the intro after the challenge.
I hope to have some very rough blocking to post soon.

LOL, I didn't expect him bumping the camera.

Probably still too early to tell but at :09 he comes straight towards the camera and I don't know how well that'll work as being dazed going in a straight direction.

Just some ideas, when he first comes out and he's pushing himself with his legs what if he does a forward roll then he gets up? And what if he bangs his head on the cannon as he stumbles?

Slurry it looks great. I laughed at the beginning parallelized guy part. And after he stands up, well the animation looks very convincing. Just for future, I mean when tweaking, I think that part sould have longer holds and faster actions with a lot of overlapping. It'll be fantastic anyway. Keep posting...

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the kind words. I started my new job this week and I have to learn a couple new piece's of software, one of which is Motion Builder. That's been taking up most of my time.

I have the first half in-betweened and splined. I still need to tweak it alot. I'll post what I have after work.

Looking good. I don't think the cannon should move to much in the beginning, in should move when package guy falls out of the front.

Hi Jeff,

The cannon moving is supposed to be the recoil after the cannon has fired. I decided to animate the last half of my sstoryboards since I wouldn't be able to fit it all into 300 frames.
I guess it's kind of confusing, especially if someone doesn't look at the boards first.
Maybe I should take it out?
I could probably use the extra frames.
But that said, I doubt I'll finish this anyway. I haven't touched it in almost 3 weeks.
The new job has taken up more of my time (and energy) than I expected.

I hear that, I just started a new job as well last week. But I'm still gonna try to post what I have.

A month seems like alot in the beginning, but at that point it's all blue skies, then next thing ya know it's the last week, or in my case the night before.
