View Full Version : Ricardo S. Fuentealba - Circus Auditions - Mime
Reserving my spot, been doing some basic posing for it, gonna be making a story board now, i'll up them as soon as i can scan them.
Right, so here is a basic rundown on what i'm thinking of doing, the mine starts of with the wall routine, starts with a wall torwards the camera, then starts going to the left (cameras view left) then start applying a bit more force to the wall, and hits the wall with his fist, then moves out of camera on the right side of the camera, then comes back running torwards the wall, and basically hits it dead on, then (still thinking if i'll do this end) is all wobbly and shaken. END :)
So here are some of the sketches i made, they are in order.
So there ya have it, hope to get some good feedback
No one has anything to say? Perhaps i'm not explaining the concept well, or it ain't interesting  .Oh well.

Whilst I like te idea of it being a nice simple idea, I think it would be interesting to understand why he get's angry and if he knows a wall is there, why he headbuts it? Is it just that he realizes that he's stuck and wants to get out?
With good animation acting you could have a nice little piece, I just think (and this is really just one opinion) that you may need a bit more of a 'back story' to make him believable, set the scene and give you something to be clearly motivated about (and therefore act to). Maybe have an actual object on the other side of the wall that he's trying to get ( a book, sandwich, some money or whatever) We can all see it, but he's trapped. Or just that he's annoyed because he needs to get out to go have a pee or get to an appointmnet or something...
Hope this helps!
Good luck, it's a good subject and should be fun to do!
Ah, that's the catch, he doesn't hit a wall, the wall is not there, he's just showing some wierd and wacky talent of being able to hit a wall that doesn't exist. Hope that explains it better
I understand it's a mime act...but usually mimes have some sort of motivation. I like the idea of having something that the mime is trying to get to....but you could do that later...if you deem it necessary. It may work without anything else in the scene.
