well i did some searching on the net and this is what i found
The B3D-Minimize plug-in for 3D Studio Max compresses Max animation files for quick download and smooth delivery over the Internet. The files are generated in the B3D format and played back using Brilliant's Digital Projector, a real-time 3D rendering plug-in for Netscape and Internet Explorer that can display B3D Multipath movies. A B3D file contains everything needed to view online interactive content, including 3D graphics, textures, sound, and animation (see screen shot).
In addition, B3D supports geometry and material morphing; standard and multisubobject material types; target cameras; ambient, omni, and directional lighting; animation controllers (TCB, Euler, and so on); alpha blending and fog; Character Studio, Physique, and Biped; and more. All data is stored in a highly compressed format, including advanced polygon data compression for the 3D models, and sophisticated keyframe reduction and data scaling algorithms for the animation. The 3D animated content created by B3D-Minimize for Max can be either streamed over the Net or self-contained
Only problem is it costs money
