angryjump.mov - 1.7MB - sorenson3 (http://www.brain-one.at/mmm/cgpics/anims/3/quick_big_sor.mov)

please look at the attached movie first.
my problem is the backward swing of the arm while jumping.
the animation consists out of 3 trax clips.
for the "angrywalk" i use one jump with the arms swinging back, the start and end pose should be perfectly the same ... if the start and end translation would not be the same, certain parts would go off over time ... you know what I mean.

what is bugging me is this middlepose of the jump, where he is at his highest and the arms are swinging back. over time the arms creat a bigger and bigger distance.
for sure relative clip is turned on, otherwise I could not loop the jump.
but why is trax increasing this move inside the clip (increasing should just happen when the transaltion is bigger on the end of a clip)

anim is still rough

thnx for help

Do you have any keys whatsoever on the arms outside of the trax clip, during that time? I'm currently banging my head against trax atm too, and I'm just doing a simple walkcycle. I had some keys for the feet, outside of my trax clip, even though the keys were set to 0 for everything, and I was getting some annoying offsets. So maybe take a look at that?

i see what you mean and i tried it, to clean up those unused keys outside the actual trax clip. didnt help, its not so bad, i solved it for the moment by making the swinging move very small in the beginning so also in the end it is not too extreme. can live with that compromise.

trax ... still feeling very ambiguose bout this tool.
on the one hand it would be such a pain to work on a looped animation just using keyframes, on the other hand one has to be really carefull not to mess things up with trax, and there are a lot of unexpected little problems when you work with it. most of it can be solved by very clean working.

thnx

What if you split the arm-movement from the rest (-> subcharacter) ? That way you can set the arm-clip to absolute which should solve the problem ..
