Ok guys, go easy on me... I am new to CGTalk and not that experienced as you guys.

I was terribly sick today so this morning whilst I was drinking some tea with honey I decided to start a concept of some fantasy profile.

I'd like to know if you guys think I should continue it in Digital? Any comments/critique/reccomendations? I wont be making any physical changes to this pencil sketch though.

Ps. The CG community is mindblowing! I really dont feel like I'm going to be able to fit in.. some advice/support would be very nice *Sniff*

It is a nice beginning. I think you will fit in here just fine, and with a bit of practice you could even rise above mediocricy! :D
Your sense of realism is pretty good in this one - it's a believable face.
One thing irks me, and that is that the sphere on the hat isn't totally round - this is just a minor annoyance, because when I clicked the thumbnail I envisioned it as a perfect spherical shape. =) So, if you wanted it spherical, make sure to make it so - if not, don't bother. =)

Welcome! =)

Thank you for the comment! I feel welcomed *smiles* by it.

Yeah, sorry about the sphere.. I wasnt quite sure what to do with it and I knew i'd just make a mess erasing it, so.. should I advance on this? If you have any ideas feel free to share :)

I've given almost all crits I can on the pic, I feel this is the start of a new creative period for you :)

Well, I really don't have any ideas, just an advice: Once you have scanned it into the computer, you no longer have to be afraid to mess it up if you can work digitally. =) Tear it apart if you see the need for it - paint over it, sketch over it, etc. Then when you have made a major change to the pic that you like, save it as a new version and keep working from that. If your changes don't work, you can always close the file and open your last save. So be bold and pursue your inner vision without fear. =)
