So, which way did they decide ? Is it to be Shaolin Soccer, or Kung Fu Soccer ?

They're keeping the title as Shaolin Soccer after numerous switches between that and Kung Fu Soccer..

It's going to be released in the USA on April 11, 2003. It says it'll be dubbed in English.. Scary :surprised

THe unfortuant thing about the DVD version is that it's the short theatrical release of Shaolin Soccer. There was an original long release that had some extra hilarious scenes and developed the relationship between Stephen Fund and Vicki Zhao more.

SS is an excellent film. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good HK flick( or just for the CG alone). Don't wait to see the dubbed theatrical release :/ BTW, have any of you guys/gals checked out "The Legend of Zu" kinda funky storyline, but it is a beautiful film

Shaolin Soccer Rules!!!

I've been waiting so long for a north american release. I hope the dubbing doesn't ruin the comedy too much... even so the visuals are so great... it makes me want to sing! and dance thriller! haha (in joke)

what fun

ooohh ss, excellent film, its very hard to find in the states now though, since miramax has distro rights and has forced removal of it from all the shelves(in anticipation of the cominc release)

you can still find it here and there, but never legally. I was lucky to know a buddy who makes frequent trips outside of the country...

Haha! It's about time they show this fantastic movie across the globe. As for the dubbing, well.... I don't expect much. This movie screams asian flavour in the voices! Jus go get subs instead.
Anyway, kung fu movie rules! :buttrock:

this movie was insanely funny, and the effects were the best I have ever seen in an Asian movie ( except perhaps, Crouching Tiger ). Find this DVD!! you will make loads of new friends if you do.

im watching the VCD at work my coworker brought it in, the effects are amazing and its so funny too. He said that its been out for a year or so. I read the 3D Festival article first, and he said he had it. The vcd has the additional footage i guess. Im going to grab the dvd, this is a keeper! along with Avalon (a french film, i think, with excellent CG too)

well...back to Shoalin Soccer =)
