So after spending some time modelling i thought i should share this project with you.
I'm doing this character for a school assignment, but i'm a little lost in what to do with him.
It started as some sort of mechanic guy for airplanes, and the plan is to texture him with a slight touch of an animal print on him or something.

But right now i'm having doubts wheter i should do that or do something else with it.
Any suggestions from you guys are welcome, and so are the regular comments and crits ;)

Quick Update. Moddeld the hands, feet and shoes. Not sure about the pants tough, needs to be worked on. Tell me what you think..

great design and good progress so far, the only crits i have are with the ears, they kinda just look like they r stuck on to the side of his head if u know what i mean?? (maybe its just me, lol) mesh looks clean for the most part but i'm not sure if ur gonna get the best deformations when animating him (assuming u are) with the current topology. Tidy up the topology a lil more and hes gonna look even better. look forward to the updates

Thanks for the comment Nurbguy, i'll look at the ears tomorow.. it was bothering me too.
And for the wire, i do need to animatie it, but i have no idea how a "good" wire should look like for an animatable character. Does somebody have some good examples for me so i can study them?

Anyway, here is the latest update for the guy.


It's getting there, but there's still so much to do.

It's very nice, but it's leaning too much to the back and it looks as if it's going to fall any second now. Easy fix, but it's a big improvement. ;)

PS. Je komt toch niet stiekem van de opleiding Games Design en Development op de HKU, of wel? ;)

He Stefander, thanks for the crits man. I will look after the leaning back thing, from the side it looked o.k. but in perspective it's a bit much. Maybe i'll fix it in the moddel itself, otherwise it will be fixed with the rigg...

Anyway, here's another Update on the pilot glasses.


P.S. Nee, ik doe die andere opleiding, Design Virtual Theatre and Games. Hier ligt de nadruk niet zo op games maar meer op wat je zelf wilt, in mijn geval Animatie. Zit jij wel op Game Design en Development dan?

Nee, zit (nog) niet op Games Design & Development, zit gezellig voor de 2e keer in Havo 4.

So, a new update.. it's starting to get there, soon to begin with the textures..
I've made new shoes for him, i realy hated the old ones... it made me think of an astronaut or something.

So, after some great crits i got i've defined the body to make it look nicer.
The left ones are the old moddel and the right ones are with new defenitions.
