View Full Version : question about boxmodeling and character assembling
Dark-Angel 10-06-2002, 10:50 PM was wondering on any type of surface that it is round flate... how do you creat smoth round holes and screw heads ... example... on sports chars some times you got this nice smoth round holes and if you have side view or top depeding where it is and this holes kind of scretch since its on a curved surface, then i need to extrude it inside so at the end i cap the thing, but i need the cap to be flat strate.
second of character assembling, was wondering for mechanical stuff like pistons, joints... do i keep theses seprate? if so how do i keep them inplace and part of the object. then other thing for this is how do i put them toghater and making sure it doesnt go throw the object or sticks right on it.
if you dont understand my question tell me, i got bad english cause its not my first language

I don't understand the first paragraph. Sorry.
I think i understand the second paragraph. Ok the piston thingy to join or not to join. I suppose if you want to animate it, it should be a saparate object but link to parent using various other tools ie: bones or constrains. During modelling one can attach those join for easy amnipulations (keeping in place) or whatever but later detach for animation, rigging or uv-ing. Does that help?

thanks or the anime tip :) but how do i keep the model in place?
