CGTalk - Need a little help!

Hey all, i am a maya n00b, well here my problem (well not a big problem but its annoying!)

as you know there are these camera view types which say persp,front,side,top etc....

i dont have it enabled!! and its really confusing!!...can someone plz help me on how to enable them?...thanks a lot......

go to Display/Heads Up Display/Camera Names

hey thanks buddy, hmm...the camera names was already checked :eek:...i guess there is something wrong with my vesion of maya...but it used to work fine :sad:

go to panels under the shelf (or the thing with the particles camera poly cube and stuff probably the second or first thing u saw when u opened maya) then go to layouts and choose your layout

hey thanks for the reply, i had tried that before, still now working....well i get the layout properly...but it is the names that i want for example right now i dont see anything labled like persp,top,side and front....its very annoying and gets confusing.....

ok then try this one then.
go to window/settings/preferences/panels...
check if your panels are labeled from there.
