View Full Version : Nurb modeling problem: caps and stiching
acc9340 04-29-2005, 10:33 PM I have deformed a nurbs cylinder with caps. Modeling requirements have forced me to stretch the caps well beyond the edges it was attached to. In wireframe and flat texturing tangency appears to be maintained between the edge of the cylinder and the caps. But at render time a split seam is visible between the edge of the cap and the seam of the cylinder. I have tried restiching, rebuilding the surface, and the gap is still visible. Does anyone know how to defeat this? It is already animated by cluster cvs, so the options are limited in terms of remodeling from scratch.

Try this - in Attribute Editor In the tessellation section check Advanced Tessellation and uncheck Use Chord Height Ratio for all stitched patches. If your object has a lot of patches use the Attribute Spread sheet.

yeah man. In the render module > render > NURBS Tesselation > option box. I usually set to highest and 2.5 and up. I don't have maya in front of me, so please excuse my lack of not knowing exactly what I'm talking about. anyways. should help you out.
