I like the wire on it. Nice. Looks like a great start. Maybe not enough of a jaw line from ears to chin. Not sure what your refrance looks like, but it looks a bit funky. There also might not be enough adbamen area. On your second render the shader is mixing wrong or if your doing passes your off on your composit posibly. Looks like your value ( white to black ) is just being layed over the skin tone.. couseing gray spots. I think it should be a darker color not a darker value that is desatruated.

thanks for the quick response, actually im not using a reference at current, but i will take a look at the jaw area and try to refine it. and as for the skin texture its just a very quick overlay texture, its not actually uv mapped at current.

feels like you're off to a good start. but i agree, using references will help you greatly. if i cant find good orthographics of the girl i want, i draw my own. still she looks good for reference free.
personally i find it easier to block out the forms of the entire body first before going in to details.

i do use references occasionally, however, for the most part ive been doing figure drawings and sketches long enough that i can usually tell when ive got a proportion that is a tad bit off kilter, but on occasion after looking at a piece too long, i stop seeing these things (not to say that i am in any way above using a model or reference, very few people are that good). thank you for the suggestions, i see the issue with the torso now, and i will work on improving it, though i may not be able to get to it till tonight or monday afternoon due to the intrusion of the rest of my life.

looks good already; few things: i see the eyes kinda big,not the width but the height, and it seems that thereīs too much space between the eyes and the top of the head, maybe itīs me,or maybe you want to do a person with a long forehead;anyway, keep it up..
